- Today, Visory Health announced that it is ranked the fourth-largest prescription discount card in the United States, based on an analysis from IQVIA. The company revealed that it has saved 3.25 million patients approximately $4.13 billion in drug costs through drug cards and partnerships with pharmacies.

Across the US, drug costs have been continuous barriers to accessing care and improving health outcomes. Multiple studies have shown that prescription prices in the US are significantly higher than in other similarly developed countries.

To combat rising drug costs, industry leaders, providers, and patient advocates have looked for new ways to save patients money, improve medication adherence, and facilitate improved health equity. From provider tools for analyzing prescription coverage to policy changes that cap prescription drug costs, methods for reducing prescription drug costs have been a significant focus area in healthcare.

“After decades of experience in the prescription pricing and healthcare industry, the reality is that women and caregivers continue to be overlooked,” said Susan Lang, Visory Health Founder and CEO, in the company’s press release.

Visory Health specifically focuses on reducing the pressure of drug costs on women and caregivers.

Lang added, “Other healthcare platforms out there don’t truly understand the needs of women and caregivers, but we know from first-hand experience that high prices for healthcare impact women more. We’re moms, patients, and caregivers, and we started this business to help everyone, including women just like us, access essential medications to create healthier families.”

The organization works directly with pharmacies to reduce costs without burdening the patients with that task. Eliminating unnecessary steps helps improve and shorten the pathway to affordable care. The company has collaborated with Kroger, Walmart, Stop and Shop, Publix, and Sam’s Club pharmacies.

"Our top priority at Visory is and always will be enabling our customers to access high-quality care at an affordable price,” said Cheryl Creamer, Chief Clinical Officer at Visory Health, in the release. “Far too many struggle to access life-saving medication due to cost barriers, and we're changing that reality one prescription at a time."
